Cigar Cutters
Cigar cutters are another tool utilized to keep
cigars in tact and shape. Cigar cutters are typically utilized in order to cut a small hole in the rounded end of the cigar, so that one can have a smooth cigar-smoking experience. One should always invest in a good cigar cutter, because a poor quality cutter can ruin a cigar completely, and render it useless. Four different types of cigar cutters are available: the scissor cigar cutter, the guillotine cigar cutter, the cigar punch, and the “V” cigar cutter. The difference between these four cutters is that the first has either one or two blades, the latter being the preferred and the better of the two. The scissor cutter is utilized for more pressure for the cut, and the cut is consequently more even. The cigar punch cutter isn’t even a cutter; it merely punches a hole, rather than cuts the cigar. One should be warned that these cutters should not be utilized on abnormally shaped cigars, but rather standard shaped cigars. Finally, the “V” cutter is probably the safest cutter, for it merely cuts a V shape in the end of the cigar.
