Montecristo Cigars
Montecristo Cigars were created by Menendez and Garcia y Cia, and rumor has it that the name of the cigar brand was inspired from Alexandre Dumas’ infamous novel, The Count of Monte Cristo, a novel enjoyed by many of the cigar rollers in the factory. The Montecristo, the cigar for the connoisseur, is available in different wrappers and binders. The Montecristo is offered in a select Connecticut Shade wrapper, with a Dominican binder and filler, whereas the Montecristo Platinum Series comes in a Mexican Cubano wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a filler which is blended with Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian. This line of Montecristo Cigars makes luxury, hand-made cigars, which are very pungent and sensual. The Montecristo White comes in a Connecticut Shade Ecuadorian wrapper, a Nicaraguan Binder, and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan for the filler. The cigars started out with merely five numbered sizes, but then garnered at least eight more sizes through the decades.
